Early this month, Governor Nasir ElRufai of Kaduna State came under fire of Southwest political clique of his ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) because he hinted the elimination of political godfather in Lagos State.
ElRufai who boasted to have eliminated about four great political godfathers in Kaduna State urged Lagosians to emulate himself in ending their years of political bandage under the control of a politician. He uttered the statement while addressing a congregation in Lagos. He hinted the citizens of tips at getting rid of godfather.
The message seemed to be indirectly targeted at Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is the political decider of the state since 1999. Hence, followers of Tinubu's political camp started throwing envies and condemnations on the Kaduna State Governor, ElRufai.
However, the tune of the critics must have changed as Gov. Elrufai, today, endorsed Hon. Gbajabiamila as the Ninth Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Gbajabiamila is Tinubu's political son and represents his interest.
Elrufai's endorsement might through raise another dust between the camps because he clearly stated that his support for Gbajabiamila will surely make Tinubu happy but he is doing so for President Buhari's Interest. With this development, can we be expecting peace to reign between Tinubu and ElRufai's political camps or more criticism for ElRufai's reference of Buhari for his decision?
