Four times House of Representative member, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has taken his bid for speakership position of House of Representative to another level of confused comprehension. Gbajabiamila who is known as a renowned Christian and elder at a Lagos base Pentecostal Church was sighted in the Holy City of Mekka, Saudi Arabia, where he dressed in Islamic ways of performing lesser Hajj's activities.
Observations revealed that Gbajabiamila's journey to Saudi Arabia is strongly connected to his bid for the speakership of House of Representatives. The position he had once contested and lost to the immediate past Speaker Yakubu Dogara. There is an observation that Gbajabiamila is attending the Islamic gathering to benefit from the fact that every prayer says at the holy mosques are but answered.
We shouldn't forget that Hon. Gbajabiamila had recently defied directives given by his party's National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole. Oshiomole had directed all members of All Progressive Congress (APC) interested in the speakership position of the House of Representative not to consult with their counterpart from opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP). Last week, he visited PDP Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to canvas his support to influence the House members from his state.
Another observation is that Gbajabiamila is using his visit to Mekka to influence the support of the Northern Members of the House who are likely going to support a Muslim ticket. But, considering these and more observations, what would you deduce from Hon. Gbajabiamila's visit to hajj?
