1st vs last day by Hon. Jubrin
Hon Abdulmumin Jubrin, former member of the Federal House of Representatives from Kano State paid an unscheduled valedictory tour to the National Assembly Complex. Hon. Jubrin was ousted by an opposition party in an election rerun.
Hon Jubrin said purpose of his visit was to return the properties of the House in his possession. Tge returned properties include ID card, Diplomatic Passport among other official items.
Hon Jubrin shared the moment which he tagged "Penultimate Thursday,..."
Penultimate Thursday, I was on a farewell visit to the House of Representatives to formally hand over my office, ID card, Diplomatic passport and other official items in my possession. Mr Speaker was out of office. I met the Deputy Speaker and Chairman House services Hon Wale Raji who was gracious to accompany me all through the process. I met the new occupant of my office, a pleasant lady Hon Princess Mariam Onuoha who just won election into the House. It was a warm reception I got from colleagues whom I ran into or visited.
Trust my good friends, the press, who insisted on asking few questions. I obliged them at least for the last time...it was all laughter.
So much gratitude to the Almighty for my sojourn in the House over the last decade and holding the sensitive and key positions of Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation simultaneously without a blemish record. I leave without ever been accused of stealing public funds in the House or associated with corruption.
Neither was I ever accused of incompetence or lacking in capacity. I have every reason to be grateful to God Almighty. Oh well...I saw in the office, a small frame with my picture standing with the speaker on inauguration day of our first term. 1st vs last day.
